Weedkiller found in bread and cereal

Weedkiller found in bread and cereal

A dose of a cancer-causing carcinogen, Glyphosate, mixed in with your morning avocado toast. Delicious.

The prevalence of Glyphosate in our food supply has been brought to life by an American man, who last week was awarded $289 million in damages due to the Glyphosate in Roundup weedkiller being a cause for his terminal cancer.

After an eight-week trial, a Californian jury concluded that Roundup was the cause of his terminal blood cell cancer and that Monsanto - the company that makes Roundup - failed to warn him of the health risk from exposure.

This issue is not limited to those living in the United states as Glyphosate is the world's most commercially used weedkiller and is permitted in over 130 countries. It is most often used in the production of wheat, soy and grains. Despite the World Health Organization deeming Glyphosate as a known carcinogen, the EU have relicensed its usage for another five years

It has recently been found in popular food items such as Cheerios, Kellogg's Corn Flakes, Doritos, Ritz crackers and our beloved bread. Glyphosate was even found in a few organic products, although most had non-detectable levels.

Glyphosate exposure can come from three sources; skin exposure, contaminated food or drinking water contamination.

HOW TO AVOID IT

Here are our top 5 tips on how to avoid this commonly used cancer-causing agent:

  1. Avoid non-organic products that contain oats, wheat, barley, soy, corn and rye.
  2. Avoid all GMO products.
  3. Avoid using any Roundup or weedkilling products that contain Glyphosate.
  4. Avoid eating meat and dairy products that are not grass fed and organic. Cattle are usually fed GMO grains that have been sprayed with Roundup, therefore they have high levels of the carcinogen in their bodies which will indivertibly end up on your plate.
  5. Avoid living in areas where glyphosate is used.

WHEN YOU CAN'T AVOID IT

Still not turned off from your weekly Doritos? We don't blame you. Here are a few tips to incorporate into your weekly routine to help your body naturally detoxify the chemicals you come in contact with or consume:

Sweat those toxins out! Visit an infrared sauna or drop a LeQure Detox Bomb into your bathtub to work up a sweat from home.

Consume sulphur and manganese rich foods.

A study published in the December 2014 issue of the Journal of Environmental & Analytical Toxicology found that certain natural substances significantly reduced urinary levels of glyphosate. The researchers used a combination of the following substances: fulvic acids, humic acids, activated charcoal, bentonite clay, sauerkraut juice.

All of the LeQure Detox products contain fulvic acids and humic acids that are absorbed through your skin. With daily use you can detoxify and protect your body!
